Upcoming Classes
All dogs are reactive, our aim to focus on the unhelpful side of reactivity.
This might include but is not limited to, dogs that; bark, lunge or get over excited through fear or aggression or overexcited.
We are focusing on the dogs that jump at cars or bicycles, the dogs that pull and try everything to get to another dog or those that, the moment they see another dog instantly start barking or growling.
Dogs will react for positive and negative reasons, they could be over excited to play wotyh another dog, this is still reactive behaviour.
Remember dogs may act differently on lead and off lead and we have a number of practical tools that will help overcome these struggles.
Reactivity is often associated with dogs that are being‘aggressive’ or ‘overexcited’ and although the root cause of the behaviour is helpful it’s not entirely essential for working on reshaping your dogs brain response to these triggers.
Our 6 week course is designed to work on a number of exercises to help distract your dog and build a solid engagement. Over the weeks we will try to increase the distractions that we are working around. Taking the barriers away, reducing the distance or using parrell walking to help your dogs get used to being around other dogs.
